K42 Mallorca is organised by PEB in collaboration with the Calvià Sports Institute, Paguera and Cala Fornells Hotel Association, CALVIÀ FOUNDATION 2004 and Calvià Town Hall.
The race forms part of the K42 Adventure Marathon Series circuit. It is a mountain race that starts at the Finca Pública d’es Galatzó, 100m, runs through the country estate of Galatzó and finishes at sea level at Paguera beach. During the first section, within the Finca Pública d’es Galatzó, there’s an ascent of approximately 1000 metres that reaches the peaks of Galatzó (1027m) and Esclop (927m).
This race scales two of the most important peaks in this part of Mallorca, namely Esclop (927m) and Galatzó (1027m).
The event takes places almost entirely within the country estate of Galatzó and along two of the estate’s well-known routes:
- S’Esclop Route
- Ses Planes Route
The event has a total elevation gain of +2051 and -2202m.
Starting at the Finca Pública d’es Galatzó, the route runs along mountain trails and forest tracks to return back to the start where it then follows the stream to get to Santa Ponça and from Santa Ponça it follows the pedestrian walkway to get to Paguera beach.
The start of the Race takes place on the 19.03.2017 at 9:00 in the courtyard of the Finca Pública d’es Galatzó.
The organisers will provide six refreshments stops for K42 and three for K21. The refreshment stops will be located at:
- KM 13,5. Boal de Ses Serveres
- KM 23,9 Route turning Ses Planes Ascent
- KM 29,6 Route turning Ses Planes Descent
- KM 35 Stream exit to MV103
